The Giving Back Workshop-The Pendo Project (Acton)

  • Acton Town Hall- Bower Room 19 Willow Street North Acton Ontario Canada (map)

****Mothers are encouraged to join their daughters for this valuable experience, but not required**

We are taking this opportunity to teach the M Power girls in the Acton area to learn all about the value of charitable giving.

This workshop will focus on learning how even the smallest gestures can mean a great deal to someone in need. We will learn how the value associated with charities like The Pendo Project, align with those of the M Power girls.

We will be creating some beautiful hand made pieces together. The girls then have the option of selling those items (magnets, jewellery)  to family and friends to raise money for the Pendo Project. All proceeds will go directly to the Pendo Project.

$15 donation to cover the cost of materials.

What is the Pendo Project?

Welcome to Pendo Project.

Pendo Project was started by Tracy Pepper, a Canadian woman living in New Zealand. While climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Ovarian Cancer Awareness, Tracy fell in love with the people and the African culture. She could not ignore the need for basic standard of life that we, who live elsewhere, take for granted.

Pendo means love in Swahili and that is, in fact, the cornerstone of the entire project.

We are a love generation. We will focus that love on supporting vulnerable women and children in East Africa.

Currently, we have initiatives in Kisoro, Uganda and in parts of Tanzania, that support education, basic healthcare and entrepreneurship.
