How old do girls need to be to participate in your programs?

  • It depends on the program. Generally our programs are designed for girls as young as 5 years old. Our weekly program sessions are catered to girls ages 8 and older. A few of our specialty workshops (Beautiful You, Elizabeth Fry Resiliency) are appropriate for girls over the age of 9.

Do I need to live in Halton region to attend your programs?

  • No you don’t. You can live anywhere and join us at M Power. We do cater our programs to the specific needs of our community here in Halton, but we welcome anyone who wants to join us.

Is there a membership fee?

  • No. There is only the program fee. No ongoing commitment is required.

Do you run any boys programs?

  • At this time, M Power is focused on developing the girls-specific programs. As more time allows (we facilitators work full-time jobs outside of M Power), we will be exploring implementing a boys-specific program.

Are there any programs in which my son can participate?

  • Absolutely. We will never say no! As long as the participant is respectful and open to the workshop content, we will welcome anyone who wishes to participate. The only exception is our weekly sessions and a few specialty workshops.

How do I pay for the program?

  • You can pay online via credit card when you book through the website. We can also charge to a credit card at the time of the workshop via Square POS. We also accept cash and E-transfers.

If I don’t show up to a program that I have booked and paid for, can I get a refund?

  • If you did not provide adequate notice (generally 24 hours) then you can receive a credit towards another one of our programs. Otherwise, yes, you are entitled to a full refund.

Do I need to pack my daughter snacks? Lunch?

  • Most of the time, snacks are provided during programs. For PD Day programs and summer camps we do request that lunch be provided by the parents unless otherwise stipulated.

Do I have to stay with my child?

  • No. As long as your child is comfortable, you are free to leave your child with us during the program. Parents are always welcome to stay and support.

What happens if my child has a food allergy?

  • We do our very best to accommodate food allergies but we do need adequate notice. There are some programs where we cannot guarantee that the venue is free of allergens (example: Healthy Foods Workshop). We can certainly provide snacks that are allergen friendly.

Where do you deliver the program?

  • M Power Headquarters is located in Georgetown. However, we offer our program in Orangeville, Oakville, Acton, Hillsburgh, Erin, Glen Williams, Norval, and now we are expanding into Guelph. We are willing to travel to wherever there is a need.

Do you have gift cards?

  • Yes, we do. We can offer gift cards in any denomination or we can provide a gift certificate good for a specific program.
