Special Event Workshop

Girls can participate in a stand alone workshop dedicated to one of our many important topics. These sessions encourage girls to generate productive peer discussion, promote problem solving skills and of course have fun.

The benefit to our A La Carte Program schedule is that parents and girls can pick and choose which topics they want to explore.

Love Yourself: Adult Edition

Date: Sunday July 21st 7-9pm

Age: Adults only

Cost: $20.00

Location: Crystal Tree Yoga, Carriage House- 75 Mill Street, Georgetown

Our parents have requested an adult only version of our Love Yourself Workshop and so we delivered! This modified program will allow adults to share in their experiences and relate to one another through some very meaningful discussions and group activities.

We will be learning to manage our stress through a variety of techniques.

Beautiful You wORKSHOP: Adult edition

Date: Sunday September 15th, 1-4pm

We want our ladies to be empowered with the knowledge when it comes to age appropriate make up application, proper skin care routines, and how to buy products that are great for mature skin.

CB is leading the charge when it comes to showing young women how beautiful they are inside and helping them feel confident and gorgeous. CB is an award winning make up artist who has an inspiring story for our young ladies.

M Power Fall Healthy Food Workshop

Date: October 26 2019, 1-4:30 pm

Age: 5+

Location: Real Canadian Superstore, 171 Guelph Street, Georgetown

Spend time with the M Power girls and a President’s Choice Cooking School Professional learning about how to make some healthy, delicious and simple recipes. The topic for this session will be food product comparison and how to make healthy choices when grocery shopping. We will be covering the tips and tools to help make grocery shopping easier and even fun!

kIT’S lITTLE kITCHEN m pOWER wORKSHOP

Date: August 18th, 2019 1-3:30pm

Cost: $60.00 per person all inclusive. ($10 discount for each sibling)

Join our local chef and pop up market expert in creating some wonderful homemade meals which are perfect for young ladies to make on their own! Healthy, hearty and easy are the key when it comes to these kitchen creations.

Our host will also be telling us all about her balancing her family, business and personal interests. This is one great workshop you will not want to miss.

Exploring our safe space through Expressive Arts Workshop with Virginia Jayhu

Date: Friday September 27th 5:30-8pm

Location: M Power Headquarters

Cost: $40.00 (before August 1st 2019) and $50.00 (after August 1st 2019)

Ages: 7+

Join therapist, artist, and facilitator Virginia as she shows girls the power of art as a way to manage stress and trauma. Those who love art can use it as a positive coping strategy during stressful times, but also as a way to regain strength and heal after experiencing life trauma.

Family Art Luncheon

Date: Saturday September 14th 11am- 1:30pm

Join us for this incredible day to spend quality time with our families over a nice meal and some creative time.

There will be a free range art studio, art instruction, and a meal catered by Kit’s Little Kitchen.

M Power Balanced body Workshop

Date: Monday November 18th, 5:30- 7:30 pm

Location: M Power HQ- 47 Main Street South (Young’s Pharmacy), Georgetown

In this workshop, we will be talking about ways to balance your mindset towards physical fitness, food, and rest to ensure health and freedom from societal rules pertaining to “diet” and what we think our bodies should look like,

This is a valuable workshop dedicated to helping girls realize that what our bodies can DO for us is much more important than what they look like.

Self-Defense Workshop

Date: Sunday October 27th, 2019 1-3pm

Location: Circafit Training Centre, 60 Armstrong Avenue

Keeping our girls safe is a priority of M Power. This workshop is the opportunity for our girls to learn the basics of safety, self-defense, and situational awareness.

Simple and effective techniques will be demonstrated and practiced in a fun and safe environment.

Money Mindset for kids- acton

Date: Saturday, December 14th 2019 5:30-7 pm

Location: Acton Town Hall, 19 Willow Street North

Cost: $10

Ages: 8+

Financial well being can be a tricky topic to approach with our kids. We want them informed, but we want to make sure it is relatable and easy to understand.

Sabrina Corker, financial advisor for Edward Jones, has offered to run a workshop for our kids to help them understand the basics of money. This workshop will be fun and incorporate a lot of hands on activities..

Body Positive Workshop for Adults

Date: Sunday December 8th, 12-6pm

Location: Devereaux House, 11494 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown

Cost: $40

Ages: Adults

This workshop follows the steps to healing the body and discovering the healthy relationship with your body that you have always wanted. Learning to listen to what your body needs versus what the often negative societal messages tell you is key.

We will teach you how to listen to your body, disregard the critical voice from inside, and live a full life surrounded by a body positive environment and community.

The five components to this workshop are:

  1. Reclaim Health

  2. Practice Intuitive Self-Care

  3. Cultivate Self-Love

  4. Declare Your Own Authentic Beauty

  5. Build Community

**Please bring a notebook, pen, yoga mat/blanket, and a lunch (we will have a working lunch that take allow us to practice eating according to our own unique eating patterns and hunger cues).

Body Positive Workshop (Girls Grade 6-8)

Date: Sunday January 5th, 9-3pm

Location: Acton Town Hall, Bower Room, 19 Willow Street North

Cost: $40

Ages: Grade 6-8 (middle school)

This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of the Body Positive Program. Learning to love and respect yourself requires understanding what your body needs. Intuitive listening is a key component to knowing what your body needs to be healthiest.

This program teaches girls to listen to their body instead of societal messages pertaining to health and well being using activities, meditation, a craft, and great group discussions.

***Please pack a lunch and a yoga mat/blanket.
